Myopia: How to Reverse It
How to reverse myopia using the benefits of hormesis (the known biological phenomenon in which people experience benefits from exposure to small amounts of toxins and other stressors*).
Introduce a slight myopic defocus or “underaccommodation”.
- Use reduced prescription minus lenses for distance viewing
- Use plus lenses (aka reading glasses) or the naked eye to read close text at the edge of the distance where the text just starts to blur (aka the “blur point”).
- Spend some time outdoors on sunny days without eyeglasses/sunglasses (though I don't recommend staring directly at the sun).
- Eat a healthy, nutral, whole, grain-free diet low in processed (heated, refined, etc.) carbs and omega 6 fats.
*See Todd Becker's "Hormesis: A New Lens for Improved Health & Resilience," http://gettingstronger.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/AHS-2012-poster-8-10-12.pdf to learn more about what hormesis is and what it can do.
